Choices for Breast Implants with Z Plastic Surgery, Newport Beach

Many patients don’t realize a breast augmentation comes with options. There are different types of implants that can mean different things for your life going forward.

  • Saline Filled Implants: these implants have a silicone shell filled with saline (salt water). If the implant ruptures the saline will be naturally absorbed by the body. They tend to be cheaper, but many recipients complain they do not feel natural and may ripple.
  • Silicone Gel Implants: these implants are filled with silicone gel, which feels more like natural breast tissue than saline filled implants. However, some recipients don’t like the risk of ‘silent rupture’ and prefer to know immediately if their implant has broken open, as silicone gel is not absorbed into the body like saline. The FDA also recommends MRIs procedures every two years to check for rupture.
  • IDEAL IMPLANT® Structured Breast Implants: These implants have a silicone structure, but are filled with saline. Because of this, there is no risk of ‘silent rupture’ yet they look and feel more natural, like the silicone-gel implants. Z Plastic Surgery is one of the exclusive offices in the Newport Beach area to offer this new technology.
