What to Expect with Breast Implant Surgery
Breast augmentation surgery is an outpatient procedure, so patients are able to return home the same day as the surgery is performed. Patients are placed under anesthesia by a board-certified anesthesiologist. A small incision is made either under the breast (in the fold of the breast) or under the armpit. After clearing a small space for each breast implant, either behind the breast tissue or under the chest muscle, Dr. Calobrace will position the implant and ensure that he has achieved your desired breast size. Breast implant surgery generally takes one to three hours. Following surgery, patients should be able to be up and about, walking around. However, it is recommended that they refrain from driving.
